About Us

Classic Automotive Repair is owned and operated by Matthew Tucker. Matt is a licensed automotive technician with 16 years experience repairing vehicles.

Born in Sydenham, Ontario just north of Kingston, he learned one of his first words from his brother, Chevy Nova. With his father remembering stories of a MGA he owned from his youth and the family driving in their VW rabbit cabriolet to Frontenac park, Matt grew up with cars in his blood.  The enthusiasm others share for them and the memories people have with them are why Classic automotive repair exists.

Initially schooling for mechanical engineering automotive parts design, he was drawn to the automotive technician field. Starting with custom exhaust using a hydraulic mandrel bender Matthew was welded into the trade. Alberta was his next step into the industry, wearing two hats as an office manager and heavy duty technician on the oil sands. Managing, maintaining, and ordering parts for equipment and vehicles on site. Returning to find his wife Kaitlyn, Matt finished his trade exam at a local dealership, quickly advancing through all the manufacturers training available. Working at Classic automotive repair as a technician Matthew saw the potential he could add to the established business created by Steve and Nicole Hayes.

Now Classic Automotive Repair has a 4,000 square foot shop with 6 staff members (and growing) to meet all your needs small or large. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about your project or our shop.
